if you send up RHCP it will come back LHCP
have a look at ok1dfc's website showing the septum feed and how it works. this explain things well
http://www.ok1dfc.com/EME/emeweb.htm
a relevant link from Zdeneks site is Paul Wades site, W1GHZ
quote "For EME, this provides
separate transmit and receive ports of
opposite sense of polarization –
reflecting off the moon reverses the
sense of the polarization."
info on the septum etc here http://www.w1ghz.org/antbook/conf/SEPTUM.pdf

Re: EME 23cm using Helix antennas
sheet metal bender? no
just a vice and some angle iron will do. i have used scrapped aluminium signs from the metal recyclers as well as shiny hardware store alum stock. they work equally well.
the backing plate i have found is easy if you can scrounge some thick aluminium, like checkerplate sheet or 10mm plate offcuts.
tap in a thread (its so easy) and screw in brass 1/8th inch screws with a disc soldered on the end.
transmit is lefthand circular , receive is right hand circular. its on Zdeneks site
see you at Gippstech and we can get up to speed on this and lots of other EME stuff
