Where to buy coil formers

Post by VK8DOD »

Does anyone know who sells slug tuned coil former blanks with can enclosure ?
I've searched Jaycar, Altronics, Farnell and Mini-kits.
Aussie supplier preferred.
Or if anyone has any NOS surplus please let me know.

Probably not much chance of finding those in Australia... There is a Neosid place in Australia, but they won't deal with you.

I got my formers/slugs/cans from Eisch Kafka, in Germany. They were quick and efficient in the ordering process. They have an online catalogue I believe. And for export, you don't pay the German 20% VAT.

Although I didnt find blank coil formers of the type you described http://www.rockby.com.au/Index2011.cfm
have quite a range of slug tuned shielded inductors. You may be able to rework them to your needs.
