Help needed to identify 3 element HF yagi

Post by VK3ZPF »

A couple of months ago we put a 3 element Yagi antenna on the VK3SCG tower at Gilwell Park but I'm trying to find some info about the antenna.

I've posted three photos to my blog in the hope that somebody might recognise the design.

At best guess the boom is about 4 m (13 feet) long.

Along the boom toward the director is a parallel tuning arrangement made of two aluminium tubes about 8 (3/8") mm in diameter and about 40mm (1 1/2 ") apart.

I'd really like to know what model and make this antenna is and some idea of the gain.

Photos are at http://vk3zpf.blogspot.com/

Thanks

It's going to be hard to guess looking at a couple of photo's from 30m up a tower and one on the ground that only shows a small portion of the antenna. Would have been better to show a close up of the matching and perhaps a closeup of the traps in case that jogged anyones memory.

Looks like a TET Japan HB9CV feed yagi - I dont recall them being made in Australia The model is a HB33SP :D

They were a very good performer and there was an unopened one on Ebuy about two months back
