Carlingford works very nicely, nearly as easy as getting into Paddo from 11th floor King St hotel room with no external view. I couldn't get into Razorback or any of the other digital repeaters.

With a 5W handheld, my signal into Carlingford was mostly unusable in FM but quite respectable (with a somewhat high BER) in P25.

Razorback is very quiet.

I gave a couple of calls on it when I was in Camden on Wed.

Yes its a bit depressing. I'm out at Camden a fair bit and I also put a call out when I'm there and hardly anyone comes back :(

I have also heard that VK2RAG (439.950) at Gosford is also P25 capable and was on air until it developed a fault recently so its been taken out of service.

Cheers,
Matt

Matt

Typical.....CBD machine comes on the day after I leave....

Matt, I reckon you seriously need to think about linking some of the P25 machines together.

They are awfully quiet.

Well done mate, it works great. Look forward to talking to you on there tomorrow for a bit of testing of its coverage.

Two of them in Sydney are already linked. Any suggestions on which of the others should also be linked?

Carlingford is currently off air due to a power supply failure.

Hopefully it will be back on air soon.

Would I be correct if the word "Onan" came to mind? 8)

Nah, one of the newer ones IIRC. They're all pretty susceptible to failure, especially in dusty environments.

Looks like the damage to Carlo is worse than initially thought - the PSU was replaced, however once the repeater came back online, it turns out the PA is dead too...

Stay tuned for further updates :)
