Depending on how you intend to operate you might be better off with an IF away from 432MHz. Even 1 MHz separation from normal 70cm activity would be enough.VK4YMB wrote: Wayne - I plan to double the 1484Mhz and use it in my 3.4GHz transverter.

2M beacon bits slowly coming together, beacon board in a KL exciter chassis for amplification and power control, Mitsubishi module and low pass filter all to mounted in a KL base chassis combined with the 1296 beacon on the one big heatsink.

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Looks really good Peter. I'll have to speak to you sometime soon on how you get it all working. Is that a 3XDK exciter board?VK3JUG wrote:2M beacon bits slowly coming together, beacon board in a KL exciter chassis for amplification and power control, Mitsubishi module and low pass filter all to mounted in a KL base chassis combined with the 1296 beacon on the one big heatsink.

Wish mine was that neat
He is one I prepared earlier has a little dust on it from waiting for the 1296 transverter which is being mounted on another Unilab heatsink .
Great work.
Regards.

Andrew the breakout box looks good. Now if I can justify buying a 3D printer to SWMBO.

Hi Andrew,
great job on the housing, you could market them I am interested in the 'pins' for the Anderson plugs, you have used. Are they easily sourced?

Hand-cranked 7 MHz CW transmitter
Built into a torch
Vigorous cranking gives 1w out but 500mW is more realistic.

I'm very impressed. If you designed the housing, can you share the CAD file?VK3BQ wrote:Simple 3d printer Anderson power pole break out box made up.
*EDIT* Just read your blog post, and got all the info I needed. Thanks!
Re: What's on your Workbench?
Currently on air testing, duty cycle is a bit high for my liking, but lucky KL's have a good heatsink. An M3x0.5 tap was the best $10 spent, use all the spare KL screws and hardware now.

Is this the replacement for the solar powered VK3RRU 144MHz beacon, as I noticed it has been off for a while now?VK3JUG wrote:Currently on air testing, duty cycle is a bit high for my liking, but lucky KL's have a good heatsink. Re: What's on your Workbench?
I got the pins from RS components Aus. They came to 70 cents each delivered. This was on par with other places. They are proper Anderson ones. Part numbers and more info on the blog.
