Hi all,

Sounds like this should be a new topic, so I will keep it brief.

The Tasmania survey has started. Not sure yet, but it looks like Justin VK7TW might be the Association Manager elect.

If you are interested in SOTA, join the SOTA Australia group at Yahoo.

That's good news Peter. I reckon Tasmania would be a bush walker/SOTA activator heaven. Go Justin!

While Brumlow Tops has reasonably easy access ( during the no locked gate season) and is only a few 100 M walk, from memory it has quite a few trees and the trig point is fairly overgrown.

Correction I was thinking of Mt Polblue

Fantastic stuff! I'll post a message on Bushwalk.com forum where there are more than enough serious Tassie walker on it. Although most of the walkers aren't into AR but I trust the message will get through.

Still surprised Tassie doesn't even have one peak on the SOTA list!

It's yet to be let into the system. It is being surveyed and the back end work happening. Sota is an "all" in affair. Not a bit by bit. So once Tassie is ready to go. It will be released. Perth is about to go live.

That'd be great. It'll be another activity the walkers can participate in once released. I note that Tassie repeaters are largely to the East of the island. Not sure of the level of participation to the West. HF country?

Whilst looking at the Blue Mtns and surround, I note there are some peaks that could well be included per 150m criteria eg. Donkey Mtn. Where can these additions be submitted? Through the Yahoo group?

Ooops, my error. It's indeed in and not activated! It's an overnight two days walk and the equipment weight may be an impediment on this route with significant amount of rock scrambling.
