Hello all. I'm looking around for a portable 2m/70cm dual-band Yagi to use for simplex QSOs. I would mount it on a Buddipole mast and use it with my Icom ID-51A. From recommendations elsewhere on this forum I'm considering this one from Antennas-Amplifiers. I'd be interested in your thoughts about whether this would be a good idea for an ad-hoc setup such as for field days.

Thoughts on a portable dual-band Yagi
Re: Thoughts on a portable dual-band Yagi
Daryl,
My only issue with that antenna is that it is attached to the mast at one end - This places considerable off-centre load on you Buddy Pole mast.
I would have thought that a dual band where the mast is attached at the balance point of the boom would have been better.
Antennas -amplifiers make such an antenna (see their website) and also Eantennas EAntenna VHF and UHF Directional Antennas EA270ZB13

That's a good point about the load Peter, thanks.
