G'Day To All,
I am looking at a vertical to replace my existing Dipole.
The main reason why I'm looking at Vertical is the fact I can't get it above 30' and I enjoy the 80 & 40 Meter Bands.
I see that there is a dirt cheap TET EMTRON TEV-1 that covers 80 through 10, but my main aim is 80.
I have a Cobweb to handle 40 and up.
The TEV-1 is only $200.
Has anyone had any experience with this particular unit?

TET-EMTRON TEV-1 Vertical?
Re: TET-EMTRON TEV-1 Vertical?
hey Pete
You still need ground radials and the bandwidth is pretty narrow on 80M -
Much more expensive would be something like the Gap Voyager

OR even the Rippletech TZ-3VL
ANTENNA DESCRIPTION
The TZ-V-3L is a tri-band trapped vertical antenna designed to permit operation on the lower DX amateur bands of 30/40/80m. If you've got a tight budget or a small yard or terrace house, why not give the HF DX frequencies a shot with a vertical. When mounted in the clear at a height of 4m or more the antenna will provide outstanding DX signals due to the low angle of radiation.

Thanks Trent,
Did some digging around a bit today and come across the Cushcraft MA8040, which also sounds promising.
Decisions..... Decisions....
