Getting Started with Ham Radio in Australia!

Post by VK7HH »

Ham Radio DX caught up with Peter Parker VK3YE who has released a new book entitled "VK3YE's Australian Ham Radio Handbook". This is available at Jaycar stores across Australia. This excellent book helps those with an interest in Ham Radio and how to get started.

Does the hobby need rebranding to attract and draw new people to the fold? Ham radio/amateur radio probably misses the mark in this day & age - although still true at the core. Would "RadComms" be a better fit, appeal to youth and at least create some new curiosity? All /any options need to be considered. I have longtime technology sales background so not the traditional tech/electronics of many. I really liked the theme from the VK5 national conference - WOW - that's the sizzle that "sells" prospective new chums to take a look and see what's on offer in the new RadComms era.
