TTI TF960 6 GHz Frequency Counter?

Post by VK4GHZ »

Does anyone own a Aim-Thurlby Thandar Instruments TF960 frequency counter?
How do you find it?

I can't find any independent reviews.

This is a 6 GHz 10-digit counter, with external 10 MHz reference input, and is attractively priced at AU$803 inc GST.
It has a USB port for remote control, and internal rechargable batteries for true portable use.

I'm looking to replace my HP 5315A (which has the 1 GHz option, and reads fine at 1296 MHz) for something that can read higher, and is less than $1k.
Not particularly interested in the really old clapped out stuff found on eBay either.

I was considering an Ascel 5.8 GHz counter kit, but by the time you option them up, you still have an 8-digit toy with no external 10 MHz reference (the deal breaker).

After 84 views, I have to assume that's a no.
