2018 Spring VHF UHF Field Day

Post by VK4CZ »

Just over a week until the Spring VHF UHF Field Day. :om:

Details are avail at:
http://www.wia.org.au/members/contests/vhfuhf/

So we know who's going to be active and where [], can you post your intentions below :?:

This FD also coincides with the WWFF/VKFF Parks activation weekend, so operating within a National or Conservation Park may have added benefits if you also chase Parks

Hi Scott and other readers.
Weather permitting, my plan for next weekend is to be at Kamarun Lookout (QG61NU) on the Saturday evening from about 6:30 p.m. onwards (local time) followed by being at Mt Gravatt in Brisbane (QG62MK) on the Sunday morning starting around 6 a.m.
I should have all bands available at each location from 50 MHz to 76 GHz inclusive.
Here's hoping for another good event for all who are on the air that weekend!
Cheers and 73,
--Doug Friend, VK4OE.

Great news Doug

Also WX depending, CJ VK4YR, Rob VK4SYD and I will also activate Kamarun Lookout Saturday afternoon from approx 12noon to 4pm.

We'll be participating in both the VHF UHF FD and the WWFF/VKFF Activation weekend.

We'll leave it in good condx for you [emoji6]

I am afraid I will be away for the FD. My intention was to provide a big signal on 1296 but I will not be back until late Sunday. At least I will be available for the last pass of the ARRL EME contest on Sunday night.

I should be out on Saturday weather and work commitments permitting.

1296, 2403, 3398 low power. Look towards Portarlington and don't forget to make your intentions known on Contest Radar.

Work commitments on Saturday morning will severely limit my ability to travel out for the FD this coming weekend,

I intend to operate portable however with the BVHFG callsign VK4IF/p from House Mountain in QG62k

Intention at this stage is to run in the 4-band (6m-23cms) 6-hour multi-op section

Wx and time permitting I may run some microwave from my home QTH on the Sunday morning under my won call

Heavy rain is forecast down here... might only be active from home on 6 metres and 2 metres.

Most of my gear is packed away while I'm rebuilding the shack but I'll try to do something.
I'll probably be intermittently active from home (NSW mid north coast QF67fw) on 2m, 70cm and 13cm and hopefully also 23cm if I can conjure up an antenna of some description for that band.

Only a 6m home station (QG62mo) periodically on the Sat afternoon in between chores. Sunday is out for me due to assessment commitments, dammit.
