Com-an-tenna 6m beam

Post by VK4WDM »

Hello everyone

Com-An-Tenna makes a 8 el 6m beam with a claimed gain of 12dB. Is anyone using one? If so, I would like to hear from you about performance, workmanship etc.

It might seem pricey at $408 but good quality aluminium is not cheap and then you have to build it.

I used an AJ Coman 2m beam for a few years and it worked very well.

Hi Wayne,
I dont have his 6M beam but I do use his 10 element 2M and 17 element 70cm beams, the build quality is excellent and performance is great.
So, on the basis of those two antennas performances, I have no doubt that his 6m beam would perform similarly.

I hope this helps,

I have one of the older NBS 6el on a 7m boom.
it uses ubolts and aluminium machined brackets, not cams.

Its being assembled atm and i hope to install it on my nally this week, now its a bit cooler down south here.
given the spacings from the poor instruction manual, the boom was about 150mm too short?

any way i have respaced the elements and plugging the element lengths/dimensions and spacings into a yagi optimiser proggy suggests a 12dbi gain with 24db F/B.

i just hope it performs better than my th3 on 6m :)

Cheers Lee
