A few years back I bought a second hand 3 element Tri-band yagi from another amateur but he couldn't remember the manufacturer.
I have tried to identify it but after searching the "net" I still haven't worked out who made it.
Description as follows:
3 elements with 2 traps per side of element, 12 traps all up
Element to boom mounting is with a U or box channel and 2 u clamps, so all elements are mounted this way.
The driven element also has a U channel but with the element split and supported by insulated fiberglass blocks and a balun with wires to feed points of elements.
The boom is a 2 piece section clamped together with 4 "U"clamps through a U / box section and another shorter one mounted vertically.
Firstly I thought it was a Cushcraft A3S but having looked at a new one on the ground and checking the specs mine is not that one.
It's not a TH3 as they are quite distinct in their designs and had 2 of those (Sold)
It's not an Emtron TE33 either as they too are quite different.
Any body got any ideas? (constructive ones that is)
Thanks

Re: Identifying an HF 3 element Triband Yagi
From the description it is not a Wilson -
U Mounting style is used by Force 12 but they don't do traps
Chermside out of Melbourne made use of U bolts not U brackets
Can you upload a link to a photo of some of the parts ? Balun, antenna mount etc ?

Re: Identifying an HF 3 element Triband Yagi
post pic only way
I have one hanging in shed no idea who I got it from or what it is and I can id HyGain with a photo
Are there any stamping marks on traps?
What sort of end caps
What sort of feed to the driven element is it in insulating tubes
what do clamps look like egg shell or over boom?
does it have a stub match?
Aluminium or T6 aircraft type etc etc
when did you buy it? 1970 1980 1990?
HM element three four or five often have extra dir or ref to get matching right
PIC is worth 1000 words

No markings at all and the balun is a long tubular one that looks a bit like a German stick grenade.

Chirnside also used hose clamps for tubing joints, and the trap caps look the same or similar too.Chermside out of Melbourne made use of U bolts not U brackets
