G'day all
Unfortunately my Yaesu FT5000MP, now out of warranty, is developing the "stock fault" for this model
Two of the small front-panel OLED auxiliary displays, which show the 2nd VFO frequency and the Bandpass, notch and menu settings etc, are failing and the third has already gone dark.
Has anyone else suffered the same problem?
Is there anyone capable and reliable here in VK still repairing Yaesu gear?

Guy is a good Guy, He fixed one of my radios and told me how to fix another. Good service, prompt and fair prices.

The Yaesu Vertex dealers still operate in South Melbourne parts and old staff well kept secret and not expensive.
I think it was jnb.. good service
I have the address on my FT2000 box
And if you think of expenses and labour rates spare a thought for us pilots forced to ADSB as they turn OFF all the radio aids,..
Quote $3995 USD to buy a new ADSB transponder about size of a 2M mobile. (plus exchange rate add GST)
12-15 hours to put it in @ $115 per hour ($1200 to $2000 est labour)
$1015 to raise engineering sheets and flight manual supplement test and calibrate
Total cost fly away no more to pay $8000 plus flight to either Adelaide or Brisbane and 2 nights ina flea lit motel and aviation fuel at $1.80 pl x 33 lph.
About 1500 aircraft still to swap out old gear about 1400 done
Total cost to the industry about 8000x3000 $24MILLION
Its only money
