Noel Walker VK2ZNS - SK

Post by VK2DVZ »

During the early hours of Thursday morning 4th February Noel Walker VK2ZNS passed away at the Karingal Gardens Nursing Home Taree.

He had been doing it tough this past 5 or 6 weeks but is now free of those problems.

Noel's funeral service will be held at the Manning Great Lakes Memorial Gardens, 183 Pampoolah Road, Taree NSW 2430.

A graveside service is scheduled for 12 noon on Thursday 11th February.

The funeral gathering is expected to be small, so may I encourage as many as able attend.

Noel was the only life member of Taree and District Amateur Radio Club. He was also a life member of the Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club.

Noel had been a licensed amateur for approximately 55 years.

Vale Noel Walker VK2ZNS

Noel, you served the amateur community well!

That is, indeed, sad news.

I knew Noel from when I returned to Sydney from Antarctica (via Canberra) in 1971.

He was one of the stalwarts / standard bearers on six metres for many years. We had many a ragchew on 6m. He often gave me snippets of news for 6UP magazine.

Thanks for the advice, Ross. Vale Noel.
