ARISS Anniversary

Post by VK4KHZ »

It may be worthwhile listening to the ISS voice downlink frequency of 145.800 during today's passes just in case an astronaut or cosmonaut activates the AR equipment in recognition of ARISS 15 year anniversary. The following message was received today;

All,

15 years ago today the ARISS team inaugurated the ham station on ISS with the first set of QSOs with the crew. These contacts were conducted on this date in Moscow, Russia Greenbelt, Maryland, USA and Houston, Texas, USA. Lou McFadin, W5DID and I were on the mic at the Greenbelt, Maryland location. Sergey Samburov, RV3DR was at the mic in Moscow.

Happy Anniversary ARISS!!

Should be directly overhead Sydney at 3:20pm this afternoon.

Someone please correct that prediction if I have it wrong.
