ZLs please note, QLD does not end at Brisbane!

There is a big ZL to southern VK4 2m opening happening now and here in Townsville I am hearing snatches of weak SSB whilst beaming toward ZL.

ZL stations, please remember to beam towards north and far north Queensland and not just Brisbane. There are some very capable 2m and 70cm stations up here and I am sure we could make contacts if you beam further north.

Yes -I can relate to that- I am in Central Qld 500km nth of Brisbane, 400mtrs from the pacific ocean -heard the southern VK4 boys working ZL this morning -but not a whisper from ZL stns -very frustrating as this seems to be the norm , with the tropo propagation across the ditch ?? Happened last year as well ...

I dont think its a fault of the ZL's, if there is propagation going that far north of Brisbane you will hear them not a problem, and I'm pretty sure the ZL's would be looking for the extra distance too dont worry.
