West Australia has published new tower planning regulations

Post by VK4REX »

Found this interesting article, WA has pronounced new planning requirements for masts and towers and removes the ability of councils to stop projects where the tower height is less than 30 meters. There are some restrictions but appears to make the process a whole lot easier. Amateur radio gets a specific mention.

On the face of it, this looks to be most encouraging however we VK6 hams need to tread carefully and investigate the "fine print" with deep scrutiny.
Only after we've done so, will we be able to proceed with "sensible" antenna height planning. I really look forward to saying "Hooroo" to the draconian rules that most of our urban local councils inflict on us.

My local council has squashed me to 6m as well! I really hope this latest planning policy means the end to the crap that local councils dish up.

I have not been drinking or on drugs, but I have been painting, so I suspect the paint fumes have well and truely got to me, or maybe it is all just one big dream what I have just read. I'm sure I will be back to normal tomorow after a good rest.
