Hackers from above
Hackers from above
A group of hackers have developed a small unmanned aerial vehicle capable of scanning nearby networks and computers in order to identify vulnerabilities. These UAVs can then report back to distance handlers as well as inject malware from above. The company - Aerial Assault - markets itself as a group of penetration-testers, using the drone to highlight weak spots for friendly networks. The F-35, with it's secretive 'cyber-attack pod', could operate in a similar way, albeit with a greater range. Facebook has also been developing a UAV capable of distributing wifi connectivity using lasers. The new hacking drone will reportedly go on sale - for $2,500.

I hope not Steve! If I see it Ill run it down in my Cessna
The proliferation of drones is a real worry to aviation and keeping them and real aircraft separated is a challenge. Last week the Townsville Airfield Information System was broadcasting that two drones were operating 7 miles northwest of the airfield but they were below 400ft and below the usual height for aircraft at that distance on that radial.
Responsible drone flyers will obviously do the right thing but there is always the chance that a "cowboy" won't.

Doesn't get mentioned but several drones have been made to disappear with a bang and some lead , legality doesn't mean moral or a right ?

Re: Hackers from above
A bit of RF on the drone's Rx frequency might confuse it a bit!

Seriously, there's little difference between using a drone and a traditional war drive.
Drones - just the latest tech moral panic. Meh

I agree with DXE. Also I read recently about someone who was arrested for inserting a bit of lead into someone's drone.
