HMI - Human Machine Interface, - say goodbye to push buttons and switches.
How cool is this!
Got a mailout from iTeadStudio, and this touchscreen GUI with programming editor would be really handy for a few projects.
Stuff you cannot watch in a dead tree:
A touch screen GUI for your station control box, perhaps?

Re: Human Machine Interface GUI
Umm just to make it clear it is an HMI not a GUI.
It's a fine line but the anally retentive in the controls business insist there is a difference.
(However I still use GUI as it really upsets them... )

Dunno whats wrong with putting a Knob or a Switch on something. Grumble grumble...........
Deep in the heart of state of the art.
Re: Human Machine Interface GUI
Its a bit small to display anything complex (old eyes) but very cool !
Re: Human Machine Interface GUI
Looks like the screen on my Tomtom GPS
Re: Human Machine Interface GUI
I note it's fully digital operation . . . with the fingers!!!

Re: Human Machine Interface GUI
Thinking the Nextion will be suitable for a project I have in mind I ordered the large and small module..... The long kick starter wait is over as this arrived in the post today ahead of schedule:
So far I have only applied 5V to see the demo loaded. The touch interface on the small module is a little "touchy" so you need to ensure you don't have small buttons.
With a number of projects on the boil at present it will be a week or two before I have time to have a serious play.

Re: Human Machine Interface GUI
Got mine today. The editor is nice to work with although still early days. The danger with a product like this is that the developers don't get enough feedback and pull the pin on the project. Thankfully there seems to be lots of recent traffic discussing them.
Here's a mock up replacement front panel I made for my transverter controller. Looks agricultural but I'm not a programmer yet within an hour I had this. The Arduino is just a convenient source of 5V for the display.
A clever bloke would import a nice background picture and make some nice graphics for the buttons and other bits and pieces. The wiki for these displays already has files to allow you to make an escutcheon on a 3d printer.
