Ok, I've been up to Mt Anakie and put a couple of knots in the string on the pendulum. The beacon should be 20Hz higher than where it was.

I don't have GPSDO locked gear here at home so I'm relying on what the confuser I program it with is telling me. I'd appreciate a report from those who have the means to measure it properly.

Bert,

It is now within 0.5 hz of 144.530000.

When I set my sig gen to 1 hz low, I get about 1 beat every 3 seconds and when my sig gen is 1 hz high, I get 1 beat every 2 seconds, which would suggest it is 1 bees dick below 530000.

Great effort with the knot tying!

Cheers

Jeez you're a tough lot to satisfy }:[ .

Unfortunately, I can't tie half a knot. The RFI 148-100 TX can only be nudged in 1Hz increments.

Thanks for the report, cheers,

No worries Bert,

You can definitely say it is on frequency now!

Now for the 432 Mhz beacon? I currently read it at 432.527 992 Mhz

1 hz resolution is more than enough for us amateurs

Thanks Peter, the 70cm beacon is still on the drawing board. We have plenty of the RFI 148-100 TX exciters available to play with and I'd be keen to use them because they're already made for FSK being ex-paging service, have built TTL keying and PTT inputs for the keyer and make such a clean signal so they're easy to work with. Just how we get them to work on 70cm is still a matter for consideration.

Cheers, for now and thanks for the report once again.
