The graphic you gave is from 4NEC2. It is free. It seems that all software had defects, free software more so... but I use 4NEC2 and recommend it to you. I use it mainly with NEC-4 (which is not free), but for much of the stuff you may want to do, the free NEC-2 engine is adequate.

Beware of 'free' packages with segment limitations that restrict them to very simple scenarios. If you invest in learning them, your work may be wasted to some extent if you should change packages. For example, EZNEC lite cannot model a G5RV over HF.

I have been using EZNEC since its early DOS versions - late 1990's.
There is a learning curve initially, there are many many antenna files available on the web to play with for EZNEC.
As already mentioned you need to look out for "limited" free versions.
FWIW, the author of EZNEC has also answered queries promptly that I have over the years, it is also regularly updated.
Many programs use the same basic maths engine, so it may come down to user interface and what you are most comfortable with.
Good Luck

Hello again Andrew

As I said on your other thread, you are obviously well on the way to being a TAWAN! Welcome to the wonderful world of tangled wire :D

Have just updated to latest version EZNEC 6. Quite a few improvements, however, best new feature is ability to move and edit wires graphically in antenna view screen.

While people are talking modelling software, will any of the listed packages allow you to model structures that may interfere with the antenna? Such as modelling a dipole where part of it is suspended over a steal roof?

This is the scenario I've been wanting to model for a while, but have been unable to find any documentation or tutorials that address this scenario.
