OM

Unfortunately there is sport on at the venue(s) every Saturday and Sunday during School Term time.

Running the Hamfest during holiday time is not really an option.

This is a common problem throughout the suburbs at the various venues suitable for a hamfest. Remember the problems that Moorabin had at Brentwood SC (and still have) at their new venue? Small wonder that councils are increasingly putting in parking restrictions in residential streets and insisting on extra off street parking in new developments.

Cheers

Ah the joys of living in the city. Parking isn't too bad if you get there early enough.

Damn!

Not having a car (or a drivers licence), parking problems don't worry me. 8)

However, my personal jet pack is in the workshop for a scheduled service, so I'll have to miss out.

The extra exercise to walk a little further never did anyone any harm ;)

Also trains and buses operate within walking distance to the venue.

Short-armed hams should note that Seniors card holders (and some others) actually get free travel to Heathmont from as far away as Mornington, Lara, Melton, Healesville etc on weekends.

Plus there's the discipline of being unable to take home anything that you can't carry.

Would you pay $20 entry to use a "function centre/type place" location with lots of parking?

I doubt it.

School holidays begin Friday 27th March this year. The school should be on Easter break. So yes. We anticipate parking should be better.

We will better manage the "main" on school group a carpark this year to prioritise disabled parking permit people. But again its public land outside. Hard to police.

Do you want to volunteer to help with car parking direction and management for a couple of hours for a free entry ticket vk3zfs? Happy to get you in for free sans the $6 if You can stand on the gate for a couple of hours :)

(But grass roots community soccer / netball. Etc etc etc. I can't control and may be still on.

Thank you to everyone who helped run our Hamfest. The volunteers who helped over a number of months leading up to the event, and on the day. You all know who you are. We appreciate your time and efforts...

. thank you to all who attended as traders and thank you to our guests. Without the community attending.. We don't have an event.

If anyone attended and has any feedback. Positive or negative. Please leave a comment. We can't improve the event if we don't know where we had issues.

(We focused on improved parking management this year, hopefully this made it a little easier for all)
Thanks. Emdrc club committee
