Just getting back into AR after many years. Have been listening and calling on 144.1 and 144.15 but my set up is very low spec.
Thought I might have heard something -- been trying on and off ? 8 or 10 months, possibly more.
I can't tune as high as 144.2 to hear anyone in SYD on AE uplink so my questions are :
Is there any activity at all on 144.1 or 144.15 ?
When is the best times to try ?
Have I left it to late to get back into it as 2m ssb is finished ??
Many tks !

2m SSB Activity?
Re: 2m ssb
Hi Pat,
Apologies if this sounds like a silly question, do you use the other features of VK Logger with the spotting feature?

Re: 2m ssb
Best times are the VHF/UHF Field Day weekends - extensive activity on 144.15 there.
Otherwise not being able to get to 144.2 is a big handicap as it's an active frequency on weekend mornings (at least in VK1-3)

Try 144.100 after around 8.45am local. You should find people tend to migrate there after the AE activity.
Is your antenna horizontal? Even a horizontal dipole will give decent results compared to a high gain vertical.

Please be aware some hams refer to the Discussion Forum as simply "VK Logger".
This is wrong, and only spreads the confusion around.
VK Logger dot com consists of two separate resources that require separate accounts.
1) VK Logger - the real-time chat and spotting system
2) VK Logger Discussion Forum - this forum
I have never understood why people do not always refer to the Forum as the VK Logger forum.
It would save a lot of on-going and avoidable confusion.
VK Logger look like this:
You can register at: http://www.vklogger.com/
Please use your callsign as your username, with no weird variations of that - just your callsign.
(Takes about 30 seconds to do)
You will be able to chat and liaise with others there.
You will also notice the Beacon and repeater databases.
You can get meaningful distance and bearing calculations if you have your latitude and longitude in your profile.
Some just use their grid square with degraded results.
The Forum looks like, well, you're looking at it.
There is a difference!
There are help topics available for both the Logger and the Forum, found here: http://www.vklogger.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=60
Hopefully that eliminates any confusion!
