Paul died on the 22nd of Oct. He was a long-time member of the Townsville Amateur Radio Club and JOTA volunteer. He was a professional radio engineer who worked for a number of major equipment manufacturers including Philips, and used his skill to design and build highly reliable valve-based HF and VHF linear amplifiers for ham use. Paul struggled with ill health in the last few years and gave up his call sign, but he continued to listen to the bands for some time afterwards.
