MacBook Pro battery

Post by VK4KL »

Over the last week or so I have had an issue with the trackpad on my MacBook pro (2011 model) not working properly. Today I noticed that the trackpad was prodruding about 1/2 mm above the case. After some research on the net I came across a post on a Mac forum that made me think a bit. Anyway I removed the bottom of the Macbook and found that the battery is bloated and was pushing up on the trackpad, not a good thing. Found out that the battery bloat is a known fault with this model. $289.95 to replace

They are in Flemington Melbourne. Decent store. Have used them for bits before.

I have ordered a "genuine" battery off the net for $82.95.

From what i can make out the battery issue was a known fault and was the subject of a recall in 2011/12.
