After months of planning by Tony VK5ZAI and Peter ZL2SJ an ARISS 2m FM voice contact is scheduled for Wednesday 26th November 2008 at 02:22 UTC with Wairarapa Home School Association, Carterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand and NA1SS.
The contact will be performed using the ARISS telebridge network via VK4KHZ in Glenden, QLD. The downlink audio from astronaut Mike Fincke on 145.800FM should be audible across parts of Eastern Australia and given the favourable time for VK (2:22 UTC) may present an opportunity for some local Amateur Radio operators to demonstrate this educational aspect of our hobby to their local school (and perhaps inspire the school to join the ARISS program).
