VTVM help

Post by VK4KL »

I am in need of some expert advice.
I have aquired a Kyoritsu Model K-142 VTVM, it was about to be thrown to the dump and in the best Amateur tradition of recycling I grabbed it and ran.
I have opened it up and found that it is in excellent condition except the "C" battery had leaked slightly I have cleaned it out and replaced the battery and found no real damage as been done.
Question time
I have found 2 floating wires 1 grey and 1 white which both go to the transformer The White wire goes to the transformer via a fuse (no problem) the grey wire is supposed to go to the transformer via a wafer switch but I can't identify which pad(?) to connect it to. Anyone have one of these VTVM's and can point me in the right direction?

After having a really long hard look and putting brain into gear it appears that there is a complete switch wafer missing on the on/off/mode switch. I will have to wire in a on/off switch
