Nally Tower Installation

Post by VK3PY »

Somewhere in Western Victoria stands this Nally tower. The concreter was contracted to pour the concrete after the tower was installed. Yes, it's a government job.........

Much as the final result is pretty obvious, the concreter probably doesn't know the critical clearances and he may have instructions for the slab that are incompatible with the setting of the tower.

Somewhere there is a project manager trying to find a solution, he might earn the nickname 'Puddles' instead of the concreter on this job.

If this is a recent install even the winches do not conform to current standard from Nally.
Seems like a lot of planning went into this job. ?

But the concreating may have been required as the exsisting footings may have not met the engineers requirements.
This tower was strengthened which also included increasing the concrete pad size.

Certainly looks like an old tower? Nally have used brake winches for quite some time. Existing install with new concrete?

cheers
