Old Gear on 2m that works

Post by ZL3MH »

Last night I worked ZL2WHO, ZL2BRG and ZL2TGQ. I am a
FT101zd collector so here are some pic's of the gear.
The VHF Station
The VHF Station
To the far right is the FTV650b a 6m Transverter. This one has a valve final, a 2002. I replace it with a 6882b a 12v 6146b.
This gear is designed for the FT101 series with sweep tubes and 650v on the plate, not the FT101zd which has 6146s and 800v loaded and up to 900v unloaded plate voltage.
VK3OT had a very usefull mod that takes the plate voltage off the final tuning pi network. At 6m the 6882b is working very hard with 150ma peaks on the meter.
Power out is 50 watts

Great set up Murray, the Yaesu line up looks good and those sat antennas getting into the bird (VO52) great this evening. Booming 5/9 signal from you into Adelaide, thanks again for the contact :D
cheers
