Antarctic Beacon at Mawson On-Air!
Re: Antarctic Beacon at Mawson On-Air!
Great news !
I'll certainly be listening on 50.300 when I can.
Interesting to see he also has a 2m/70cm satelite antenna setup as well, I hope to hear him off a bird !
P.S> can VK0RTM can be added to the VKLogger Beacon list so we can post spots when we hear it?

Re: Antarctic Beacon at Mawson On-Air!
YES! At the bottom of the repeater page there's a "contact us" link. Fill in as many details as you can (at least frequency and grid locator) and submit.VK1JA wrote: P.S> can VK0RTM can be added to the VKLogger Beacon list so we can post spots when we hear it?

There is one small problem with this beacon

SSSHHHHHHHHH.
Seems strange that no license has been granted?
The RI's may have to do a trip in the "field" to verify this unlicensed "device" is actually transmitting,
before going in for the swoop to apprehend the culprit(s)
One would think there is a logical explanation
Cheers. John

Re: Antarctic Beacon at Mawson On-Air!
I notice that the licence will expire in March ... will VK0RTM still be on air after Craig leaves Mawson?
(just so I can keep or delete the memory channel entry)
(edit: get the callsign right!)

Re: Antarctic Beacon at Mawson On-Air!
I plan on leaving the beacon operating at Mawson.
The license is funded by the WIA so I hope they renew the license.
