VK5 SOTA 1 year anniversary

This October is the 1 year anniversary of Summits On The Air (SOTA) in South Australia.

To celebrate this, we are going to have a co-ordinated activity day on Sunday 6th October, 2013.

Hopefully there will be a group of VK5 ops who will be atop a summit somewhere. So far there will be 5 activations around the State.

Ian VK5CZ is going to activate Mt Horrocks, VK5/ SE-012, and I intend to activate VK5/ SE-016 on the Fleurieu Peninsula. John VK5BJE will be activating Mt Gawler, VK5/ SE-013. Ed VK2JI/5 will be operating from Mt Lofty VK5/ SE-005 (within the Cleland Conservation Park). Col VK5HCF & crew will be activating Mt Burr, VK5/ SE-019.

As you can see there is already a chance to work a handful of VK5 summits and hopefully some more VK5's will also get involved.

If you do intend to activate a VK5 summit, please place your activation details on the SOTA Yahoo group, and also on SOTAWatch.

I would encourage as many VK5's to get involved as possible.

If you do hear someone on top of a summit that Sunday, give them a shout.
