Easy ordering on new MiniKits website

Post by VK4GHZ »

Hi all

I was on the MiniKits website last night ordering a preamp kit and other bits & pieces.

Mark has done a fantastic job with the new website.
Ordering is quick and simple, and gone are the days of the backwards and forwards emailing for postage costs etc.

The new shopping cart system must keep tabs of item weights, and the appropriate shipping methods are offered during checkout, in this case 500g standard or express satchels.
PayPal surcharges are also automatically calculated.
This streamlines the whole process into a true online shopping system.

If you have not seen the new (late last year) MiniKit's website yet, check it out.
Your next project is awaiting! :D

I had a few problems with wrong items supplied in the early days. Mark explained that some items as they got ported over got mis-described, or wrong picture with wrong item.

I believe those problems are now fixed.

What's an extra 1mm of solder fillet on a wrongly-sized PCB SMA connector? :D It looks a bit of a bodge but easier (and cheaper) than sending them back for replacement.

But at least the online shop is now back in the 21st Century.

Hi,
An excellent job, which should be rewarded by more orders
Also the price performance ratio is very good.
The versatility of his products is also what keeps me going back. There are a number of PCB's which are useful for many different ideas.

The new MINIKITS website is much nicer to use....

I have sourced quite a lot of bits 'n' pieces from MINIKITS over the years including preamplifiers for 6m/2m/70cm and 23cm.

All of these preamplifiers were built with my one hand and worked straight away on first power-up/test....great value for money.

And the "wish list" is a very useful feature for adding items over time and then easily converted to a "shopping cart" when ordering.

I'm delighted Mark is stocking 7.2 MHz ceramic resonators.

As indespensible to the direct conversion receiver / DSB transmitter builder as the coconut is to islanders.

A package has arrived of more very useful components stocked by Mark at Minikits. Ordering is so easy, you could really give the plastic a beating!
Hopefully, more "workbench" pics soon.
Cheers
