Icom SM20 Microswitches

Post by VK2TS »

Has anyone else had to replace resistive up/down buttons on a Icom SM20 Desk Mic? Anyone located them, and don't say Icom:) I assume they were would be expensive from icom. I have tried contact cleaner but they seem pretty well sealed. The fault on the down button introduces resistance that causing the voice keyer in the radio to Transmit when operated.

Cheers

Tony

Hi Tony,
Do you have a picture of the micro switches ?

I recently replaced the keypad switches out of an Icom Receiver with some miniature switches from Jaycar and they were close to identical.

Cheers,
Mal

Hi Mal

Thanks for the response. I can take a photo on the weekend and send thru. I can also get some rough measurements etc. I have a feeling they may have been DPST but will confirm

Thanks

Cheers

Hi,
Is it similar to the one at the following URL

http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SP0600

If so they come in different sizes.
