My boss at Villiers Electrical will do you a good deal.

The important item is which inverter is used , only a few are rf filtered correctly and that must be written into the supply contract

FWIW, I have a SMA SB500TL-20 on the outside wall of my shack with no RF issues from it. :)

Hello John
We have been off grid (RAP) for just on ten years. All I have done besides the routine maintenance of topping up the battery (24 cells), measuring the specific gravity and charging when there is no sun, has been to replace a capacitor in the generator (6KVA). We got our system from BP Solar in Prospect Road, Prospect.
It works really well and I can run 400 watts PEP when required!

Cheers

Has anyone bothered to check that the panels are at the correct angle? The further south the install is, the higher the angle should be. As an example, I'm doing a job near Castlemaine where the panel angle should be 60deg and I think a job last year near Swan Hill, we had the panels at 56deg or so.

I see a lot of solar panel installs these days where the panels have been installed parallel with the roofline... fail!!!

I don't see too many bird-spikes installed either...

There are two ways of looking at the way the angle is measured and people here are getting confused.
A rough guide is to elevate the panels at roughly your latitude,so for Adelaide about 35 deg. This means the panels are 35 deg up from the horizontal. There are plenty of online modelling tools where you can input different angles and check the difference in solar theoretical output.
I chose 30 deg as it was pointless for me chasing the low winter sun angle, when I live in the clouds and winter production is low.
Have a play with these calculators but remember in practice you will generate less.
Cheers
