Unfortunately the interfence is in the direction where I beam most ..
Looks like from a Wireless Router, or a Energy Monitor?
Been there on 144.100Mhz for about 12 months now.
Anyone else experienced this ?

2m Interference
Re: 2m Interference
Sounds like pager intermod to me. I get it off the scale at home, as I am about 3km from Doncaster shopping town (2nd biggest shopping waste of time in vk3). Odd that it is that low, most of the ones I hear are at around 148.5 or up.

Re: 2m Interference
Yes, a job for my little FT817 with a small directional antenna.
Locating the source won't be difficult.
How to remedy it with the owner will be a problem.
This is not pager QRM , its on 24/7 continuous. The pager is about 5kms away on Mt Stuart but 90 degrees from the interference.
I do have that pager interference on top part of 2m FM band with my Alinco FM radio.
I just wanted to know what equipment is most likely the cause.

Re: 2m Interference
Lloyd,
You don't mention what direction it is that you get the interference peak at. Doesn't happen to be the same beam heading as your house?
I ask because I had a "signal" spring up on 144.100 a few years ago. I discounted the evidence of my own eyes, which had the noise peak when my array was pointed north (the array is on the south side of my house/"shack"...). It wasn't until I took my FT817 outside with a small yagi that I DF'd the noise as coming from my own house. Turned out to be a USB device, on my computer. Grrr...
To my ears it sounds like a computer-related device. Not sure that actually narrows it down all that much these days...
Anyway, start at home by turning everything you can off. Once you've eliminated your own stuff, then you can start walking the streets with the FT817.
Best of luck with it.

When you do start to wander the streets searching make sure you have on a White Dustcoat, Headphones, Safety Glasses and Hard Hat.
That'll get the neighbours talking...
