VK4RTT 2m beacon replacement

As noted on VK Logger recently, the VK4RTT 144.440 MHz beacon on Mt Mowbullan is becoming increasingly unreliable in operation.
Old age!

The Brisbane VHF Group is aware of this, and a replacement beacon is being organised as we speak.
It is anticipated the new beacon will be operational in time for the all-important summer Es season.

01-Oct 12:12:01 VK4OE+ Today VK4RTT Bunya Mtns 144.440 beacon antenna changed horizontal to vertical polarisation as an experiment to find why it's intermittent.
01-Oct 12:14:37 VK4OE+ p.s. It's not being vertical polarisation that's the issue, it's just that it's a different antenna (temporary). All reports valued!

The Beacon is not audible this morning - but was ok Yesterday about average 529, with qsb -there is no or very little tropo assistance to-day with this high s/easterly wind. 20-30knots. I normally use the beacon daily, to monitor conditions
