F 6M FREQ..

Post by VK3PA »

    Hi Federico, IW1QN

Thanks a lot for transmitting the rules for this contast.

Unfortunately the French 6m lovers are not allowed to enter this contest, according to the French Amateur régulations.

    They cannot transmit under 50200.

Oh dear! That means I will have to wipe off F from my 6m DXCC list. I worked about 30 F stations last cycle none of them would have been above 50.200 :(

I've made a ton of QSOs to France and most would have been below 50.200. The french complain that no-one listens above 50.150 unless the band is wide open and even then it's rare. I'm sure that you know the feeling from the 52MHz days. But if we're going to wipe out QSOs on their ability to follow the rules, figure half your european QSOs were running waaay over the legal power limit. The Italians when first granted 50MHz had access to 12.5KHz of band, some wags claimed that a certain italian station thought that that was his allowed TX bandwidth!
