NW of WA Pilbara Region ..Portable Operation 6M

Post by VK6KDX »

Hi all

I am setting off on the 7th of July caravanning in the Pilbara region in
the general vicinity of VK6REX which is frequently heard in JA.

I will be operating portable with a 4 el yagi and a FT897 mainly on six and
some times on hf 7.093Mhz.
When in range of Telstra I will be on logger.
My operating times will be subject mainly to finding other
entertainment for the xyl. We will be on the road for 7 weeks.

I will also be on the OZTRAVEL 4x4 net.

So hopefully the sixmeter gods will be kind are kind I will be able to
handout some new grid squares.

Regards Jack

Have a good trip Jack! We're heading off around 18th July, up the Gascoyne coast then East Pilbara (Carawine Gorge).
Not sure at this stage whether I'll have radio gear.

Cheers

Jack,
I am guessing you mean near VK6RSX the Dampier beacon
6M has been rater quiet latley, hope things start improving again soon, I am listening to 50.110 most times when home
and the local 2M repeater 146.700 at Wickham which also has IRLP node 6600

Will listen out for you and Andy

Have a good trip
