Good grief, using a Hotmail address for a "business".
Is this guy serious?
There is a contact telephone number on the pdf though.

Hi Leigh,
This company changed their name to Australian Radio Industries, and last thing sighted was an add in AR in August 2007 which listed:
EMAIL: sales@arindustries.com.au.
There is also a business hours phone number: 02 48877505 and Fax number 02 48877504.
Hope this helps,
Michael VK3AAK

Re: VK Discount Cables
All fixed phone numbers mentioned are disconnected (including the one from Adams post), except the said Fax number which I called but no fax answered.
Im checking the mobile number at the moment.

Re: VK Discount Cables
OK the fax number in Michaels message is the phone number in Brians message.
And I also found this http://www.ourpatch.com.au/southern-hig ... es-pty-ltd
WHich indicates that 02 4887 7504 as per Brians msg may be the phone number. Brian has had more recent contact.

Re: VK Discount Cables
OK yes Wayne is correct with the numbers and address.
I also called and spoke to Rob and told him were a touch concerned with what was going on, but all good. His doing more commercial stuff now which is good to see too and hence the name change from VK Discount Cables to Aust Radio Ind.
I have also gotten stuff from Rob before and can highly recommend the products and services from them.

Re: VK Discount Cables
Time to bring this topic up again.
Does VK Discount cables still exist?
Does Australian Radio Industries still exist ?
If not, where can I source large Andrews or RFS feeder cables from at this point in time? (and connectors)
Thanks

Re: VK Discount Cables/Aust Radio Ind.
I am after some antenna wire, and wanted to contact Rob, as I've bought stuff from him before.
Both his landline and mobile numbers come up with the Optus lady regretting that they are no longer connected.
What I seek is copper wire for a receiving antenna (4xEWE) about 100m, of around 1.6mm, bare or enameled, preferably annealed rather than hard drawn.

Re: VK Discount Cables
Hi Luke,
Sorry but I cannot help with finding Rob.
I have found 2 sources of copper wire that might be suitable:
TET-Emtron http://www.tet-emtron.com/product-p/te- ... h-67cw.htm which is 7 strand hard drawn Cu. A full reel is about 700 m....
NBS Antennas in Dandenong http://www.nbsantennas.com.au/antennas_and_parts.html has approx 2 mm hard drawn & insulated. He also has multi-stranded tin plated Cu silicone coated & stainless wire available.
I bought some wire in late 2010 via an advert on VK-Classified - 2.5 mm HD Cu with plastic coating. Must get some of it up in the air sometime....
Good luck with your hunt!

Of course you can purchase the wire size you want from any electrical wholesaler who if they don't have the solid you want can direct you to the nearest motor rewinder in the area who can certainly assist , I have stripped old motors transformers and horns depending on my needs , often obtained from the dump or recyclerVK3HJ wrote:I am after some antenna wire, and wanted to contact Rob, as I've bought stuff from him before.
