Interference with computer speakers

Post by VK4WDM »

Hello everyone

When I go on the air on any band my audio is heard on our computer speakers three rooms away. According to the XYL, turning the volume down does not help.

How can I cure it?

My TV antenna is only a few metres away from my dipole but there is no TVI.

Hi Wayne,

Had same prob here and found the clam shell clip on ferrites very effective. The more turns of the speaker lead you can wind thru the better. I was also triggering my outside security floodlights when I tx'd. Fitted a ferrite clam on the 240v lead at the light and cured it. I was also getting interference to my cctv camera mounted top of my beam, when I tx'd. Fitted ferrites at the AV inputs at monitor and now ok. I bought a pack of ferrites off ebay and have been clipping them all over since.

Cheers,

Wayne,

Computer speakers are notorious for this. You can buy "imune" speakers from some US radio shops. Others may be able to be more specific on where. I have tried ferrites to try and cure the same problem at my place. I can reduce the interference but not eliminate it.

Good luck!
