Hi, I have a pretty good idea, but I just want to clarify something... Can someone please explain to me what exactly a green stamp is when refering to QSLing? I have come across some operators who don't accept IRC's.
Thanks, 73
Theo.

Green Stamps
Re: Green Stamps
Hi Theo...I think you will find they refer to Greenbacks...ie US One Dollar Bills/notes whatever you want to call them.VK5FTDM wrote:Hi, I have a pretty good idea, but I just want to clarify something... When QSLing direct, it's customary to include either an IRC or the other form of international currency, the almighty US dollar bill (AKA greenstamp).
In countries where postage rates are higher, or an operator is trying to profit from activating a "rare" country, they may ask for USD$2 instead of USD$1.
When QSLing direct with a DXpedition you might like to consider sending more than the actual cost of QSLing (say, $USD2-$10), and consider the balance a small donation towards DXpedition costs.
I normally buy 10-20 USD$ dollar notes from the airport every now and then, so they are readily available if/when you want to QSL direct.
