Re: 23-on-23 + MAD: Sunday February 23, 2020
Given the uncertainty in that very few have bothered to advise about their activity, }:[ I have decided to do other things instead. It would consume a significant part of tomorrow in dragging the [unused for 6 years] gear out, blowing the dust off, checking everything and reaquainting myself with it...

Re: What's on your Workbench? Repairing resistive touch screens
I haven't tried this myself, yet, but if you have a 'dicky' resistive touch screen, this could be worth a shot. Note that a hot air re-work station is being used. These are essentially a fancy heat gun with better control over temperature and air flow rate, and, have various nozzles so that you can ...

Re: New 122GHz World Record
A great accomplishment by the operators, especially considering it's a "real" QSO, and not this digital mode stuff, where your computer has a contact on your behalf. :J Cue the comments about CW being the original digital mode, etc. This video demonstrates the signal levels involved ...

Re: What's on your Workbench?
I'll have to think about how to mount it to a tripod since I have a couple of dish options to consider. Tim, keep an eye out for old "Fluid Heads" that pop up on eBay etc. Pan/tilt heads that have reached their end-of-life for professional camera work, but are perfect for parabolic dish a...

Re: 23-on-23 + MAD: Sunday February 23, 2020
I believe there was some email list going around to a select few, so some details may be on an invite only basis. :shh: As a gate crasher, I might set up and blow the dust out of the dual-band 5.7 GHz / 10 GHz transverter from the top of the drive way. Those will be the only bands active. Mt Coot-th...

Re: Looking for ESA-L1500A manual
It's an elusive document, Lou.
Assume you have checked KO4BB, which is an excellent resource for manuals.
I see there are a number of documents for the same family.

Couldn't spot the CLIP though.

Re: HP Agilent 53131A 53132A 53181A 12.4 GHz option
Razvan has officially launched his 10 GHz pre-scaler board to suit the HP Agilent 53131A, 53132A, 53181A family of counters. https://cojotech.com/ HPO-100.JPG An introductory discount of 10% exists right now. As discussed above, this pre-scaler actually works up to 12 GHz. Have already ordered mine!...

Re: HP Agilent 53131A 53132A 53181A 12.4 GHz option
Adam, Why not look for a good secondhand HP5350B counter? That will get you to 20GHz. Hi Peter They look like a very capable piece of gear, but I'm avoiding older generations, and I wouldn't have room for a 5350B. Moving forward, any "HP" gear I buy must have the "Agilent" badge...

Re: HP Agilent 53131A 53132A 53181A 12.4 GHz option
Update! I'm forgetting about the lucky dip cheap Chinese crap, as I have heard directly from Razvan (Cojotech) that he will be producing a 10 GHz prescaler for this HP counter family. I was kinda sleeping on this, because I don't have the documentation/video presentation/etc ready, but I have a 10 G...

HP Agilent 53131A 53132A 53181A 12.4 GHz option
Hi all I am looking at replacing my HP 5315A universal counter (with 1.3 GHz option) with either a 53131A or 53181A. I'm leaning towards a 53181A because I don't need the extra measurement functions of the 53131A. Just after a good basic counter that can work to 11 GHz. And then again, there's the B...

Grafting a Fluke 7220A tilt bail onto a HP 5315A Universal Counter. It's a common problem, but the plastic tilt bail is broken on this HP counter, so part of the Fluke's enclosure was grafted on, which results in getting a tilt bail back again for bench use. http://vk4ghz.com/wordpress/wp-content/up...
