Re: eQSL

Could be an innocent mistake. Someone perhaps who is rusty and sends their call but it sounds like other letters ie sending n and t and it sounds like a k and a few other combinations. Just a thought.

Yes, and can be unwrapped much later on and reused a few times if you had to. I use it all the time at work.

DUX petrolatum anti corrosion tape or keeping it simple... POO Tape. http://www.plumbingplustrade.co.nz/image/cache/data/Dux/tape/DPT100-500x500.jpg Full of grease and once around a connector the grease can be smeared to become a solid mass. Mark. That's the same as Denso Tape :D http://www.tapeson...

Re: Don't use vinyl tape on connectors?

Since about 1978 i have used aluminox inside every joint then blutack on every external joint on every piece of aluminium on every antenna i have built. Every feedpoint of every antena also sealed with liberal amounts of blutack. Rough as guts yuo might say but i reckon i can show you nice shiny jo...

Re: Sark 100

Hi Grant this is a commercial dummy load bought from a HamFest 1.1:1 on a Daiwa cross needle meter so should be good on Sark 100 Adrian but what about the 150/270 ohm resistors? Are they purely resistive? If they are not then they may throw the calibration out and cause an incorrect indication on t...

Re: Yaesu ft847 digital problem

i guess ill have to look at another type of modem for modes using ssb like wsjt. You think MFJ1278 will do the job? Cheers. Depends on your budget but the rigblasters work well, I use one with the mic plug. http://www.westmountainradio.com/images/catalog/plusII-bigZoom.jpg The rigblaster plugs into...

Well that's different then. If the cable is good and you can assume that, looks like more hair pulling sessions or use the mic input with an adapter cable. You know the mic works but perhaps the back panel socket and cables/circuitry are faulty.

Re: Yaesu ft847 digital problem

Are you after HF WSJT, then you do not use the 6 pin din socket. HF AFSK is via the 3.5mm stereo connection.

Re: Yaesu ft847 digital problem

Hi Wayne, from what i just read about the UD04YA cable it uses the 6pin mini din plug. Am I right? Are you plugging into the PKT 6pin socket on the back of the 847 or the data socket for HF which in the manual I have is a 3.5mm stereo socket. You say data socket but I think you mean PKT socket perha...

Cheaper than the Yaesu one hahahaha but yes more expensive than some of the others around. I like it and that's the important thing ;-)

Re: Best satellite tracking program?

Just to add another to the list. I use WxTrack and have done so for many years. One might think it is for weather satellites but it also does any satellite that keps are there for. I just purchased a G-5500 and it works well with WxTrack which uses the GS-232 setup to control the rotators and theref...

VK6RST beacon

A few weeks ago I sent an email to the WAHAMS email group mentioning that VK6RST 2m and 70cm beacons were barely audible as I passed by the beacon location. They had not known of a problem so looked into it. Yesterday it was posted they are back on air and operational. I will be able to check as I p...

Re: VK6RMS 2m Repeater Status

Just an update to this thread Leigh. I drove near VK6RMS area today and it is obviously still off air. Tried to access but nothing there. On another matter. Don't know if it has been mentioned anywhere but the Mt Barker VK6RST 2 metre and 70cm beacons seem to be sick. Within sight of the tower (unle...

Re: Using Handheld Microphone whilst mobile

I am guessing but perhaps they could possibly book someone using a two-way for failing to drive with due care and attention or careless driving if they wanted to. I am sure a reason could be found :D I must admit I always drop the mike if a Police person or vehicle is spotted. Over here they recentl...

Re: FT-7800R Programming Lead - use an ICOM CI-V lead

Why didn't I think of that. Nifty! and if you have an old wired mouse no longer being used or broken it becomes even cheaper. I used an old mouse cable with molded plug a couple of years ago to make a APRS cable for my rig so would possibly would also work for the programming cable. Looks like the ...
