Re: Catalyst about Mobile Telephones
I've had a professional interest in the issue of perceived risk from non-ionising RF radiation for some 25 years. I have read numerous scientific papers and reports, going back 70 years. I have critically analysed study after study. I saw the Catalyst program. I have seen numbers of other programs &...

Thanks Gavin.
Quite a shock, and very sad news indeed. He will be sorely missed, not only in VK, but around the world.

What a day ! Justin VK2CU picked me up and we went over to Parramatta, where he has access to the roof of what was until recently the highest tower block in the Parramatta CBD (QF56LE). Justin took his GARC panel, his 9cm EME rig-in-a-box and four panel antennas, ranging from a squirt about 1...

Re: South America 10m Contest - March
As Scott points out, it's difficult to reach the southern nations in South America as the great circle paths cross the south polar cap - notoriously difficult ionospherically. }:[ So, I suggest you try beaming northeast or east-northeast across the Pacific, to catch the northern nations via skip fro...

A sad state of affairs in ZL, it seems, Ken. Grant (and others) the WIA is working on improving things for all licence grades, Foundation holders in particular. Re: Noel Walker VK2ZNS - SK
That is, indeed, sad news. I knew Noel from when I returned to Sydney from Antarctica (via Canberra) in 1971. He was one of the stalwarts / standard bearers on six metres for many years. We had many a ragchew on 6m. He often gave me snippets of news for 6UP magazine. VK2ZNS_6UP_Jul73.jpg Thanks for ...

Well, the CCARC Field Day website has been updated, with the What's On page giving a "skeletal" listing of activities, but nothing about the VHF-UHF-uWave Weak Signal "seminar". :eh: The time-slot requested was 1100-1130 hrs local time. See: http://fieldday.org.au/wp/whats-on/

Re: History of AX Prefix use in 1900's
Steve, 1970 was the Cook Bicentennial - 200 years since Captain Cook landed on the east coast of Australia (note: I said "landed', not "discovered". Maybe I should have said "invaded"). :) That is my first recollection of the use of the AX prefix. The term ran from 1 January...

Neat job !
What have you done with the "left over" bits from the original innards ?
If you kept them, what do you intend to do with them ?

The assigned (and advertised) frequency is 144.420 MHz, Rex.
Looks like that's possibly the one you've taken "pictures" of.

Wyong Field Day 2016 VHF-UHF-uWave gathering
Get-together at CCARC Field Day, Wyong, 28 Feb 2016 Hi All, I have sent a missive to CCARC asking that they confirm the "usual" arrangements for the VHF-UHF-uWave Weak Signal fraternity get-together at the Field Day, scheduled for 1100 or 1130 hours local time. I will advise when/if I rec...

Hi Kevin,
Why don't you try subscribing to the ARRL's RFI email list reflector ? RFI@contesting.com
See: http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi
You can ask advice there, even though it's predominantly 110-120 V oriented. The lumenaires generally come from the same manufacterer sources.
