G'day Glenn, 27 deg to you certainly makes our AE path a challenge with 1000m high mountains 10km out from this qth. BUT I have worked Trevor VK4AFL and Andru VK4KAY via AE in the past month, so with the right plane on the right path at the right time.... it should be possible. I will set ...

I see that there has been some activity on SSTV from the ISS. How can I find out when the schedule is to know when to tune in?

Re: WSPR operations on 144 MHz
Does anyone have a Theory on how I received signals like those in the pics below from Mick 2 evenings in a row? Was it at the same time in both evenings, Wayne? And how long was the signal detectable on each occasion? Not every commercial aircraft has ADS-B fitted, even now. (Though we must be gett...

Re: WSPR operations on 144 MHz
Hi Wayne, Is Mick running true 20W? Has he heard your signal or has it been one way? Hi Leigh, Not sure about his output I'm just going by his report @ 20w. He only hears me on the odd occasion when I use 100w or more. His signal was very stable tonight, around the -23dB mark give or take a dB. A q...

Re: WSPR operations on 144 MHz
G'day Barry Thanks for your observations and theories, all credible. The "normal" BNE-ADL route follows the VK2XN-VK4CZ red line to the metre, and doing so would produce very little drift/doppler over the 2 minute WSPR tx period. The one thing I have noticed is the minimal rise and fall of...

Re: WSJT9 experimental MS mode... JTMS on 144MHz
Thanks for the post Kevin, the wheels of progress turn slowly at times.
I'm still wondering if this mode would perform as well if not better than FSK441 on 432MHz.
Maybe the next Major Shower will answer my question.
Cheers

Re: WSPR operations on 144 MHz
Hello Leigh, My question was prompted by your post re the -28dB decode from VK5AKM. With WSPR-15 having "9dB better sensitivty than the normal 2-minute mode". (quoted from the WSPR-X users guide) I wondered if this had been tested at VHF, 9dB would equal a considerable reduction in tx powe...

Re: WSPR operations on 144 MHz
Hello Leigh
Have you considered testing WSPR-X on 2 metres?
I know it was developed for LF MF propagation but from what I understand
it is more sensitive than WSPR.
Cheers

Re: WSPR operations on 144 MHz
Hello Leigh, thanks for the post. Below are a couple of screen captures showing the Northern E's opening on both 6m and 2m WSPR. IPS ionograms for the east coast all indicated a high probability of VHF E layer activity, prompting me to set up 6m and 2m WSPR in tandem this morning. Consistant +11 to ...
