Re: What's on your Workbench?
This looks similar (with the same specifications) to the frequency counter that I have been using for a few years, and I paid a similar amount of $$$ for it off e-bay. I have found it a good piece of kit for general amateur use. The stability of my unit is good and within specification - I reference...

Hi, The kit seems to be of good quality, it can also be purchased of Banggood for AU$22.60 including shipping. Refer: http://www.banggood.com/DIY-45W-SSB-HF-Linear-Power-Amplifier-Amateur-Radio-Transceiver-Shortwave-Radio-Development-Board-Kit-p-1018834.html A review on the banggood site states: &qu...

Re: I this a simple way to get on 10GHz?
Hi Wayne, Perhaps .... I expect that frequency stability would still be an issue, but Gunn Diode based transceivers would probably be less stable. The unit looks like a doppler motion sensor. These are available off e-bay real cheap. You may find the following link of interest: http://www.limpkin.fr...

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the feedback. I seem to be getting de-codes that do not always end up on the map?
I suspect that my firewall is being a problem.

Hi Andy,
I am listening on 14.095.60, just want to confirm the RX on WSJT-X should be 1800 as shown.

I have also had and 857D in a 4wd mobile situation (Pajero NL) since 2005. Similarly it has performed flawlessly - no display issues.
I use a panel extension kit, with the main radio boy located under the driver's seat. A brilliant radio!!!

I have one of these off e-bay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Handheld-Capacitance-Inductance-L-C-Meter-LCR-LC200A-Multimeter-Electric-Bridge-/221270029038?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3384b8b2ee It appears to do what it claims, and will set you back around $45 posted. Measuring SMD inductors may...

Re: Beacon Database changes
Hi Adam, The updated page is fantastic!!! I like the path profile addition. :D The feature to report S/N ratio for JT(x) was there all along, I just had not noticed it - thanks for pointing it out. See http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjt.html for info on the WJST modes : JTMS, FSK441 for m...

Re: Beacon Database changes
Hi Adam,
The changes look great. Just a suggestion, with the addition of JT4 perhaps an additional column for Digital Signal reports that are specified as signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) in dB.
RST is good for CW, but we give a more quantitative measure with the digital modes.

I like the JT4 addition . A decode off 70cm is attached, still having difficulty decoding 23cm. Perhaps it is not JT4D???

Re: pcDuino Single Board Computer
Hi Adam, A good question, but I do not think so. PcDuino Nano V3.0 - All Winner A20 SoC (Dual Core) Raspberry Pi 2 Model B - 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU Both have 1 Gb RAM and run various flavours of Linux, but there is extra $ for a lower spec CPU if you go down the PcDuino path. Yes, it is ...

Thanks for sharing this. The 3.5", 480x320 high resolution Intelligent Display Module looks great, but the price is a little high on the URL you have listed. There seem to be lower cost options on eBay, such as "SainSmart 5" 5 TFT LCD Touch Panel (Resolution 800x400) + TFT LCD Shield ...

Re: Which Morse Key?
I use a WESTERN UNION LEGLESS 2-A TELEGRAPH KEY & SOUNDER on my TS-2000X. It is well over 100 years old from the 1800's, works well, and looks neat :D I do not have the sounder connected, just the key. But the sounder does work :-) I suggest that the key thing is to find something that you like ...
