Re: Fldigi Macros - Examples Wanted
David, Thanks for the reply. I've been able to get Fldigi to set the modem type , but I cannot get it to change the modem type successfully within the macro. It seems to be reading the Macro from the end first. I do remember reading something about that in a manual. time to re-read it. I'm running a...

Re: AO-85 A very respectful request
Wayne,
I corrected the frequencies in the MacDoppler application I use (Uplink / Downlink where reversed, very odd) and so you may hear me on the bird now.

Fldigi Macros - Examples Wanted
Hi, The summer is ending this weekend and with it the 6M activity. This year had a couple of firsts for me (my first Oliva Contact on 6M), and so it got me thinking how I could get it together a bit more for next time. I kept seeing posts on VK Logger saying beacon mode on. or CW Beacon active etc a...

Re: Slow Scan TV - What Frequency ?
Thanks all for the responses. I've made one Oliva contact to date to VK5RM on 6 Meters. Impressive mode for weak signals. I'll give the balloon a go tomorrow morning. That should be fun. I cannot upload GPS co-Ordinates as I don't have the tracking software. But I'll give it a go to see if I can hea...

Slow Scan TV - What Frequency ?
Does anyone use SSTV ?
I' want to try some other digital modes (getting tired of JT65) and don't know what frequency to listen to, or what the procedure is ?
Thanks

Re: AO-85 Amazing foot print
That's interesting ,
I've updated the keps and told the app to use the defaults.
I'm using MacDoppler and shows the uplink as 145.9800 and the downlink as 435.1800.
complete reverse... very strange... but explains why I never hear the bird !!

Re: Digimode on 7.079?
Waterfall shows both JT65 and JT9 signals.
The 500Hz trace, as seen from 7.079 Mhz LSB is actually a JT9 signal transmitting on 7.076 2500Hz on USB.
Same for 1500Hz trace on waterfall is JT65 signal correctly transmitted on USB on 7.076 Mhz 1500 Hz.

Whoever wrote the prediction software seems to have nailed it !!
The match between the predictions and actual is really close .
That's some piece of code .

Re: WSPR2 &CAT
Yes, I have it running for a TS-2000 and FT-847. Both are running off a SignaLink USB for the Audio in/ out. TS-2000 requires a standard serial cable. FT-847 requires a null modem cable. PTT is VOX driven on the TS-2000 and CAT driven on the FT-847 (it doesn't have VOX). What is the issue you are ha...

Alan,
What mode are you trying to run ?
The current version of WSJT-X (1.6.0 RC-2) runs JT65, JT9, JT4, WSPR-2, WSPR-15 and Echo.

Re: Uniden Scanner - are they all deaf ?
I found a 12 volt car plug and took it for a drive. It's receiver is not so bad if I get away from this location , but it's still what I would call deaf, at least compared to the other radios I have. I've opened it up, it all good. No dry joints. It's in a very new condition. Lets face it, It's a ch...

Re: Uniden Scanner - are they all deaf ?
Thanks for the suggestions. My first thought was the BNC connector. I found some references to them being hand soldered in their day, and that many of the joints where dry or not soldered correctly. I also found some circuit diagrams (thank you Google ) , and it seems the radio circuits seem to be f...

Uniden Scanner - are they all deaf ?
I purchased a Uniden Scanner (UBC330CRS) off eBay this week. I was hoping to program it with all those other frequencies I listen to occasionally , Aircraft, Marine etc. Unfortunately I find it's deaf as a post. A signal thats S9 +10db on the TS-2000 is still in the noise on the Uniden. (and the TS-...

I was about to build one but not sure if I should after reading these posts. I don't want to be seen as one of "those" operators...... I was going to build one based on my experience from the 2016 Summer Field day. I could hear a VK3 calling CQ on 2M , or more correctly I could hear the &q...

Re: Tigertronics SignaLink USB
I have one of these running on a TS-2000 off an Apple i-Mac works fine. Simple easy device, just a little expensive at the moment. Does anyone know if the radio lead needs to be shielded ? I want to make up another lead for a different radio and was thinking of cutting down a spare RJ45 Data patch l...

Re: Yagi Insulators - Suggestions ?
Bob, Performance wise it seems to do the job. From the limited "Mobile Testing Platform " it seems to quite directional, Front to Back is Noise to S9. Nothing from from side. and generally raises a signal about 4 to 5 S-Points. I'm more than happy for a first attempt. I need to install the...
