The best system depends on which measuring tape you can find in the shed when you need it!

Re: 300W BLF278 PA 48V (PA0V Nanko)
Interesting. I subscribed to the 4DD website about 4 months ago, and heard nothing for ages. Then an email turned up about 6-7 weeks or so back approving my membership & containing a password (which works), so someone must be looking at the site occasionally. Curiouser and curiouser! Regards, Ken

Re: ICOM Radio Control Software
I have removed my previous post because the link to the forum simply did not work. It appears that the IRC software is now totally unsupported, as far as I can see.

Hi, Justin. A very nice unit. I assume the battery is charged direcly from the vehicle alternator by your comments Have you considered using a dc-dc charger for your battery? These are made by Projecta, CTEK and others. A Google of DC-DC charger will uncover all you need to know. It might suit your ...

Re: QSL Cards - myqslcard.com
Hi, Greg. '73' means "best wishes", so you don't need to say 'best best wisheses' . Much the same with DX - it means long distance working (rx or tx), so you don't need to wish long distance workinging on people. I would suggest you make it simply "73 and Good DX", and the...

Re: QSL Cards - myqslcard.com
Greg,
if you intend to make this "available to all at a small cost", then you need to address things like "best 73's and Good DXing." on the cards!
Even if you don't intend to sell it you still need to fix that up!

Ken

Rob.
OK on trying the cat number first - it used to work, but not now, apparently.
"Mind you, she still calls the squelch knob on the mobile the 'Squidge'." Sounds like your wife might be over qualified for a job there, then.

Ken

Re: Help with Spectran
Adrian, Spectran is not decoding software for any digital mode. Think audio SPECTRum ANalyser, and you will get the picture. As a previous poster stated, you will see tones/signals in the waterfall before they are audible in your speaker. Very handy for looking for a beacon etc. A version of Spectra...

Re: 2 metre SSB Scramble.
Hello, Michael and all. The only problem I can see with the draft rules is that the scramble (and callback) coincides with the Eastern Zone ARC net held on VK3RLV at that time each Sunday night. At a guess, I would say this would affect 3, or 4 at most, potential participants (and possibly not for e...

Re: 6m frequencies
Adam, there are a couple of disagreements with your frequency list above and the published WIA band plan. 1. The published plan does not state CW only for the 50.080-50.100 segment, but is simply 'International DX window'. 2. The published plan states 'CW/SSB: DX or local for the segment 50.100-50.2...
