Re: Australian DMR repeater network
Thanks I have been waiting for the demand of the dv4mini to die down and then I am going to buy one, but i am having some issues with my TYT MD-380 at the moment with it not decoding DMR voice but sends it fine, so will have to wait and see what happens might even get into DMR instead as it is way m...

Re: TYT/TYTERA MD-380 DMR Handheld
Unfortainly no Allen I don't, I thought that maybe Andrews Communications may have picked them up as they sell TYT but hey haven't. But as Richard stated above TYT has been trying to rip off dealers and word gets around quick and I am thinking that maybe people are to scared to become dealers. I hav...

Re: TYT/TYTERA MD-380 DMR Handheld
Yes I have read that Richard and it is very sad that TYT is doing that to there dealers as they are a very nice radio for the money you pay for them, I guess some of those Chinese companies only care about the dollars they are making and not customer service and this is sad. Australian DMR repeater network
Following this one closely as I would that idea myself, it would make it cheaper to deploy a DMR repeater. Can't say I have heard about it as of yet but there is a DV dongle along the same lines as the DV dongle used for D-Star that will do both Dstar and DMR coming out very soon EDIT: Found the web...

Re: Australian DMR repeater network
There isn't any Hytera network repeaters in VK but that might change soon. The Hytera is slowly taking off in the US and is a great alternative to the MARC network. If you look at the number of users registered for a DMR-MARC ID is quite a few numbers in the eastern states the figures for each stat...

Re: Australian DMR repeater network
Radios on the Orion network number in the many thousands and include some of Australia's major companies as users. Oh yeah the Orion network is a bloody excellent system and has good coverage, but i agree i feel hams are not taking advantage of DMR and is the reason i have started playing with it a...

Re: Australian DMR repeater network
Yeah it is a good mode, Kev MKB's TYT MD-380 radio arrived today so he will also be on DMR now. We are looking at in the future of deploying a stand alone DMR repeater here in the Banana Shire The Tytera MD-380 is the cheapest entry into the DMR world at this stage unless you buy a cheap secondhand ...

Re: Australian DMR repeater network
From what I have seen Wazza the MARC network admins only allow Motorola gear on there network due to equipment capability and linking issues with other brands, I am willing to be corrected if there is other reasons. The two VK4 repeater you have listed above are the two that were working when i was ...

http://dmr-marc.net/cgi-bin/trbo-database/register.cgi Go to the above website and at the bottom click register for user/radio Id and fill in your details, most times you will get your ID in under 24hrs, most times much quicker. well that is correct and the majority of licensed hams know not to transmit out of bands unless you have a emergencyVK3AUU wrote:Brandon,The reason why what you say is correct is that you have an Amateur Radio licence.

Re: ACMA inspecting lots of F Calls
Well that is highly possible but I have seen ACMA driving around my town before. Have seen a Toyota Prado with lots of antennas and ACMA on the side. Also the same day i seen a bloke on a push bike with what looked to be a small 900mhz yagi. So they do get around but think they only come this way if...

What new bands should we ask for?
To be honest I am not entirely sure but it says it can't exceed 10khz
EDIT: It appears that the 10khz is for the 27mhz band
